cleanliness benefits by helping to remove more bacteria that hide
in those hard-to-reach spaces between your teeth. Once there, they
continue to digest food particles and generate that evil acid. If
they’re in residence long enough, they can also destroy gum
tissue, ligaments and bones, the loss of which loosen your teeth
and can lead to major health problems. Using dental floss after
each meal will remove them before they can create damage.
What kind of food you eat can also have an effect too by providing
bacteria with the menu they prefer. We all know that sugar tops
the list, but there are other things that also help bacteria
promote decay. In reality, any food containing sugar and other
carbohydrates appeals to them. The list includes potato chips,
peanut butter, raisins, popcorn and fruits like bananas, apples,
pears and others. You’re probably not going to stop eating them
altogether, so be sure to brush/floss after eating and be aware
that washing food down with a drink will also help to stop it from
sticking to your teeth. Chewing sugarless gum also helps by
generating saliva which is a natural plaque-fighting material.
These steps will go a long way toward improving and maintaining
your oral health and giving you the bright smile you need. And
